Kim was born and raised in Carson City, NV and maintains a strong network of friends and relatives in the community. During her early years she was dedicated to ballet and received a scholarship to dance and study with the San Francisco Ballet Company. She also studied dance with the Royal Winnipeg Ballet in Canada, and Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, TX. The rigorous study of ballet instilled a strong sense of discipline and commitment along with an appreciation for the value of hard work. Subsequent to her studies in dance. Kim has remained dedicated to athleticism and continues to cycle, hike, rock climb and run, taking great pleasure in the natural beauty of Nevada’s landscape.
In her professional capacity, Kim operated broadly within the channels of state government, rising to the position of Chief of Administrative Services at the Department of Personnel. Her responsibilities included oversight and management of the statewide Payroll, Employee Records, Grievances & Appeals and Training for the state’s 14,000 employees. She also managed the Accounting and Information Technology that supported the Department.
